Friday (today), the 64th Annual Las Posadas will take place in Heritage Park in Old Town. The German Currents Kino Series at the Digital Gym will screen the film Generation Beziehungsunfähig (Commitment Phobia). There will be additional showings on Sunday and next Wednesday. The French - American School will be holding a Marche de Noel Winter Fair. There will be a Persian Cultural Center Family & Friends Movie Night at the PCC.
Saturday and Sunday, San Diego's All-Youth Nutcracker performances will take place at the JCC.
Saturday at Mission Trails Regional Park, there will be a presentation of Kumeyaay Children's Games & Toys. The 26th Annual Parol Lantern Festival will take place at the Educational Cultural Complex. At Westfield Plaza Bonita, there will be a Filipino Holiday Kick-off Party. Pathways Community Church in Santee will host a Christmas Around the World program. At Athens Market Taverna, Koureloudes will play traditional Greek dance tunes, as well as popular and table (listening) songs. El Alebrije is a Mexican-flavored version of the Nutcracker which will take place at Kit Carson Park. At the Educational Cultural Complex, the Filipino arts organization, PASACAT, will present their Hiraya - Fruit of Our Dreams music and dance program. And there will be a Kenyan Independence Celebration at the Nara Ultra Lounge.
Sunday, there will be a Holiday Haifa in City Heights. The Nepali film Life in LA will be shown at Dancing Yak.
Tuesday, there will be an online discussion with Trung Le Nguyen, author of the 2022 One Book, One San Diego teen selection, The Magic Fish. The Afro-Cuban Jazz Ensemble and Dept. Jazz Ensemble from Grossmont College will perform at the First UU Church.
Wednesday, there will be a Volunteer Event for hurricane recovery in Baja. 1222 Oceanfront - A Black Family Christmas returns to North County will both free and tickets performances. At Mic Drop Comedy, there will be a Middle Eastern Comedy Night.
Next Thursday, Poncho Sanchez will perform at the Conrad Prebys Performing Arts Center. Love Actually will be screened atop the Manchester Hyatt downtown.
Next Friday and Saturday, Love Actually will be shown at Cinema Under the Stars.
Next Saturday, the Chinese Historical Museum will host a talk on Eureka’s Chinatown and the Case of Wing Hing VS the City of Eureka. The Centro Cultural de la Raza will hold their annual Posada Fundraiser. The Alfredo Rodriguez Trio will perform at the Conrad Prebys Performing Arts Center. The Flamenco Tablao Series will continue at Normal Heights Community Dev. Comedian Hari Kondabolu will perform at the Laugh Factory.
Next Sunday, you can Celebrate Jólabókaflóð at Warwicks. Iceland holds the distinction of having the most libraries and books per capita, and Jólabókaflóð is an Icelandic tradition in which everyone buys books to give away at Christmastime! And there will be a Haiti Benefit Concert at the Holding Company.
